About Square Peg Foundation

Square Peg Foundation provides an safe and healing space where we conduct an adaptive horsemanship program using donated and rescued horses. We adapt our teaching to the needs of a variety of students, some with special needs. We mix kids and adults of differing abilities, disabilities and diagnoses in a supportive, inclusive community environment. We believe this creates positive and meaningful learning experiences for all of us, regardless of background, education, diagnosis, class or race.

All of the horses used in our program or rescued or donated. We provide these animals with the best care available, including regular veterinary, equine dental, and farrier care. Some of our horses also receive additional supplements, chiropractic care, acupuncture and physical therapy. Many of our horses would have been destroyed or neglected if not for the opportunity we give them for a healthy and productive life.

Square Peg Foundation works closely with other non-profits and educational institutions to provide volunteering opportunities and program services for the clients and students of those organizations. These partnerships provide Square Peg Foundation with students and volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and diagnoses, and allows our partner organizations to add our program to their suite of educational and recreational opportunities.
